Wildebeest Migration Takes Center Stage
As the 2025 Great Wildebeest Migration went global via livestream from the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya launched a bold new tourism campaign aimed at drawing millions of visitors over the next two years.
President William Ruto opened the global broadcast on Thursday, setting an ambitious target: 5 million foreign tourists by 2027. His message was clear—Kenya’s wild beauty, conservation successes and warm communities are ready to welcome travelers eager for authentic experiences.
'We are focused on tourism that enriches both the visitor and the host, and transforms travelers into ambassadors for Kenya, a country proud of its wild beauty, conservation achievements and unbreakable spirit,' he said.
The campaign will spotlight Kenya’s diverse ecosystems and cultural heritage, inviting young global citizens and adventure seekers to connect with local stories and conservation efforts.
With the migration streaming to screens around the world, Kenya is betting on digital engagement to inspire sustainable travel and transform each visitor into a champion for its landscapes and people.
