Tragedy struck Mozambique as Cyclone Chido's lethal force claimed 73 lives and left 543 individuals injured, according to the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD).
The cyclone ravaged the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Nampula, causing widespread destruction that displaced thousands of residents and severely damaged critical infrastructure. Homes, roads, and essential services were among the many structures impacted by the storm's fury.
In response to the escalating crisis, the Mozambican government has established two emergency accommodation centers. These shelters are currently providing refuge to 1,349 people who urgently require support and assistance.
As the nation grapples with the aftermath of Cyclone Chido, relief efforts are being mobilized to restore stability and provide much-needed aid to the affected communities.
