New York Gears Up for Gusty Winds and Snow Showers Amid Cold Front

A fast-moving cold front is set to sweep across New York City late Wednesday, bringing strong gusty winds and a chance of snow showers. While heavy accumulation isn't expected, the combination of flakes and winds could lead to snow squalls, potentially limiting visibility for travelers across the region.

Early Wednesday night will see a wintry mix of precipitation transitioning to rain by Thursday morning, according to the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS).

This storm, classified as a clipper, will deliver its heaviest snowfall to the Great Lakes area. Northern Maine areas may experience between 15 cm to 30 cm of snow. Upstate New York, already hit hard by last weekend's lake-effect storm with over 165 cm of snowfall in some locations, could see additional accumulation of a few centimeters.
