Belgian animal park Pairi Daiza announced on Wednesday that three of its five beloved giant pandas will return to the Chinese mainland on December 10, marking the end of their loan period as part of an ongoing collaboration with the Chinese mainland's China Wildlife Conservation Association.
Tian Bao, born in 2016, and twins Bao Di and Bao Mei, born in 2019, have been cherished attractions at Pairi Daiza, delighting visitors with their playful antics and contributing to vital conservation efforts. Their return to the Giant Panda Base in Bifengxia, a renowned research and breeding center for giant pandas located in the city of Ya'an, southwest the Chinese mainland's Sichuan Province, underscores the strong ties between the Belgian zoo and Chinese conservation programs.
The agreement emphasizes the commitment to global panda conservation, fostering cultural and scientific exchanges between Belgium and the Chinese mainland. As these pandas embark on their journey back home, Pairi Daiza celebrates the successful partnership and looks forward to future collaborations aimed at protecting these iconic creatures and their natural habitats.
