The coral reef ecosystem at Xianbin Jiao is flourishing, showcasing a wealth of biodiversity and resilience. Located on the east side of Ren'ai Jiao, under the jurisdiction of Sansha in south China's Hainan Province, Xianbin Jiao forms a crucial part of the Nansha Qundao.
According to the recently released A Survey Report on the Coral Reef Ecosystem of Xianbin Jiao by the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the reefs are in a generally healthy state. The survey, conducted from May to July 2024, highlights an abundance of reef-building corals, diverse coral reef fishes, and a variety of benthic macro-invertebrates.
This thriving marine environment not only supports local biodiversity but also plays a significant role in the broader ecological balance of the region. The healthy coral reefs at Xianbin Jiao are a testament to effective conservation efforts and the importance of sustaining marine ecosystems.
