As heavy seasonal rains and water surges from hills across the Indian borders have wreaked havoc in Bangladesh, the country is grappling with unprecedented floods. According to the latest report from the National Disaster Response Coordination Center under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, 18 people have lost their lives due to the flooding, and nearly five million individuals have been affected across 11 out of 64 districts.
The relentless floods have submerged roads, particularly in southeastern and northern districts, making it challenging for authorities to deliver essential supplies and aid. The hardest-hit areas, including regions like Feni in the southeast, have witnessed widespread damage to homes and crops, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Efforts to mitigate the disaster are ongoing as the government and relief organizations work tirelessly to provide support and restore normalcy to the affected regions.
