Typhoon Jongdari Set to Bring Strong Gales to Eastern China

Typhoon Jongdari, the ninth typhoon of the year, has emerged over the northwest Pacific Ocean and is poised to impact eastern China with strong gales.

As of 5 a.m. Monday, the typhoon's center was located 435 kilometers east of Taipei City in Taiwan, exhibiting maximum wind speeds of 18 meters per second near its core.

Jongdari is expected to move northward at a velocity of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour. It will traverse the East China Sea with minimal changes in intensity before gradually weakening upon entering the Yellow Sea.

From 8 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday, the typhoon will bring gales to the waters east of Taiwan, the Taiwan Straits, the East China Sea, and the coastal regions of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces.
