Tragedy struck south Afghanistan's Zabul province on Sunday night as heavy rains unleashed devastating flash floods. According to local authorities, at least 10 individuals lost their lives, including a woman and three children, while three others remain missing and one person sustained injuries.
The floods ravaged the Shinkay District and the provincial capital, Qalat city, leaving destruction in their wake. Properties were severely damaged as the relentless waters washed away crops, homes, and livestock, pushing residents into despair and uncertainty.
Zabihullah Jawhar, spokesperson for the provincial police, highlighted the extensive property losses, stating that the community's resilience is being tested in the face of this natural disaster.
