A tragic flash flood and mudslide struck Kangding in Sichuan Province on Saturday early morning, resulting in the deaths of eight people and leaving 19 others missing, local authorities reported at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The disaster unfolded around 3:30 a.m. in Kangding, part of the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garze, where a tunnel bridge was toppled and homes in Ridi village were destroyed. Rescue teams are currently working to locate the missing and provide assistance to those affected.
