The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) issued its August forecast during a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday, predicting a wet start to the month in northern regions and persistent heat waves in the south.
Jia Xiaolong, deputy director of the National Climate Center, highlighted that the first 10 days of August will see frequent precipitation across the country's north, including areas like northeast China, north China, and eastern parts of the northwest region.
Additionally, the southwestern Sichuan Basin and Yunnan Province are anticipated to experience moderate to heavy rains in the coming days, with some regions facing torrential downpours or severe rainstorms.
High temperatures are expected to continue in many parts of China, notably in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, impacting daily life and activities.
