China's Yangtze River is currently facing its third flood of 2024, influenced by the impact of Typhoon Gaemi, according to the Ministry of Water Resources. At 6:50 p.m. on Monday, water levels at the Lianhuatang hydrological station, a key monitoring point in the river's middle reaches, reached the warning threshold of 32.5 meters.
In response to the rising water levels, the ministry has initiated flood-relief measures, focusing on repairing dike breaches in central China's Hunan Province. These efforts aim to mitigate the effects of the flood and protect local communities from further damage.
