Beijing Puts Orange Alert as Heavy Downpours Disrupt Train Services

Beijing's northern and western districts are on high alert as heavy rainstorms hit the capital, marking the second-highest level in the city's four-tier warning system.

The municipal meteorological department reported that heavy rains began at midnight Monday, with precipitation reaching an average of 42.9 millimeters by Tuesday morning. Changping District recorded the heaviest rainfall.

As a result, train services in Shijingshan, Haidian, Mentougou, Changping, and Huairou districts have been suspended to ensure passenger safety.

Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather reports and follow safety guidelines during this period of intense rainfall.
