Typhoon Gaemi Devastates Taiwan Region: 10 Dead, Nearly 900 Injured

Typhoon Gaemi has wreaked havoc across the Taiwan region, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 10 lives and leaving 897 individuals injured, according to local authorities. The storm, which marked the third typhoon of the year, made its initial landfall in Yilan County around midnight on July 25 before making a second landfall in Fujian Province.

In the wake of Gaemi's passage, cities such as Hualien, Kaohsiung, and Yilan have been grappling with severe disruptions. Residents have faced road blocks, roadbed collapses, and landslides, complicating rescue and relief efforts. Additionally, two people remain missing as search teams continue their efforts to locate them amidst the challenging conditions.
