China is on high alert as Typhoon Gaemi sweeps across the region, bringing with it severe rainstorms and the threat of flash floods. The Ministry of Water Resources announced on Saturday that water authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to combat the rising dangers posed by the typhoon.
As of 8 p.m. Saturday, water levels in 87 rivers across seven provinces—Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Guangdong—along with the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, have surged, triggering flood warnings. These targeted measures aim to safeguard communities and minimize the typhoon's impact on both urban and rural areas.
