Typhoon Gaemi has wreaked havoc in Liaoning Province, northeastern China, bringing heavy rainfall and prompting the relocation of over 27,000 residents.
As the third typhoon of the year, Gaemi has caused water levels to rise in 40 reservoirs across the province, which are now discharging water in an orderly manner to manage the increased flow.
The provincial meteorological authorities have forecasted heavy torrential rains to continue from early Sunday morning through Tuesday, urging residents to remain vigilant.
In anticipation of potential flooding, Liaoning Province has organized thorough inspections and patrols along dikes to mitigate disaster risks and ensure public safety.
Additionally, hundreds of chemical enterprises and mining companies, along with their staff and nearby residents, have suspended operations and relocated to safeguard against flood risks.
The Ministry of Emergency Management heightened the emergency response to floods in Liaoning from Level IV to Level III in response to the impacts of Typhoon Gaemi.
