Firefighters are currently battling the rapidly spreading Park Fire in northern California, forcing over 3,500 residents to evacuate their homes. The blaze ignited on Wednesday evening in a park near Chico, coinciding with the final day of a severe heatwave that has been affecting the region.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) has deployed more than 1,150 personnel to contain the fire, which remains only 3% under control. Residents are being advised to follow evacuation orders and stay updated through local authorities as efforts to contain the wildfire continue.
