China Launches First National Crested Ibis Protection Center

In a significant step for wildlife conservation, the Chinese mainland's Shaanxi Province is set to open its first national-level Crested Ibis Protection and Research Center in Hanzhong City this September. Jointly established by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and Shaanxi Province, the center will build upon the Shaanxi Hanzhong Crested Ibis National Nature Reserve, founded in 2005.

The new facility aims to bolster efforts in scientific research, rescue operations, breeding programs, and the reintroduction of the Crested Ibis to the wild. By focusing on these initiatives, the center seeks to ensure the survival and flourishing of this endangered species, highlighting China's commitment to biodiversity and environmental sustainability.

This initiative not only enhances the protection of the Crested Ibis but also serves as a model for future conservation projects, intertwining scientific innovation with dedicated preservation efforts.
