The Chinese Mainland Activates Level-IV Emergency Response for Chongqing Floods

The Chinese mainland's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has activated a Level-IV emergency response to address severe flooding in Chongqing Municipality. Starting Monday, heavy downpours and rainstorms are anticipated to hit the Sichuan Basin, with some areas expecting prolonged rain through Saturday, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management's weather forecasts.

In response to the impending threat, weather authorities issued an orange alert on Monday—the second-most severe warning for rainstorms in the region. While Level-IV is the lowest tier in China's four-tier emergency response system, it signifies the importance of preparedness in the face of potential natural disasters.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed and follow guidance from local authorities to ensure safety during the upcoming stormy conditions.
