China is taking swift action to manage the recent breach of the Dongting Lake dike by deploying a range of advanced technologies and a substantial workforce.
On Saturday, drones, satellites, and helicopters were dispatched to gain control of the situation. Over 1,400 personnel from the National Comprehensive Fire and Rescue Team have been mobilized to the affected area, demonstrating Chinaโs commitment to effective disaster response.
The China National Engineering and Construction Corporation, also known as China Anneng, has added 350 more rescuers and 98 pieces of critical equipment to the relief efforts. To ensure seamless communication, state rescue authorities have deployed two compound-wing drones to Huarong County, the region most impacted by the breach.
In addition to aerial support, China Anneng is utilizing satellites to map the affected area and monitor ongoing developments. The arrival of an Mi-171 and an H125 helicopter at the scene has further bolstered the efforts, providing capabilities for aerial reconnaissance and transportation.
On the water, the \"Changsha\" emergency response ship is actively involved in pile driving to reinforce the breached dike and placing stones to prevent further erosion, showcasing a comprehensive approach to mitigate the flood risks.
