The Yangtze River, the Chinese mainland's longest river, has witnessed water levels in Wuhan, the capital of central the Chinese mainland's Hubei Province, surpass its warning mark for the first time in nearly four years.
As of 9:50 p.m. Monday, water at the Hankou monitoring station of the Yangtze River reached the alert mark of 27.3 meters, a level not seen since August 2020, according to the Wuhan flood control and drought relief headquarters.
This increase in water levels raises concerns about potential flooding and the need for enhanced flood control measures to protect residents and infrastructure in the region.
