Early Monday morning brought relief to Wuzhou City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as the water level at the Wuzhou Hydrological Station fell to 18.40 meters, dipping below the warning threshold of 18.5 meters. This significant drop indicates that the peak flood levels of the Xijiang River are receding.
All rivers in Wuzhou, including the Xunjiang and Guijiang, are now experiencing declining water levels. This improvement has allowed the Wuzhou Maritime Safety Administration to lift the Level IV flood control emergency response by 10 a.m., fully resuming navigation on both the Guijiang and Xijiang rivers.
With the water gradually stabilizing, maritime authorities are actively managing previously halted vessels, ensuring safe and efficient navigation through the region's waterways. This development not only marks a return to normalcy for local businesses and transport but also highlights the effective response and management strategies employed by the authorities during the flood period.
As Wuzhou continues to recover from the recent heavy rains, residents and businesses alike are optimistic about the return to regular activities and the resilience of the region's infrastructure in handling such natural challenges.
