Survey Shows U.S. Public Increasingly Anxious About Climate Change

A new survey conducted by Veolia North America and Elabe has unveiled a growing sense of anxiety and vulnerability among the U.S. public regarding climate change. The study, carried out between late 2023 and early 2024, collected opinions from 2,000 U.S. adults through an online platform, highlighting a significant shift in public sentiment toward environmental issues.

The findings indicate that a majority of respondents are increasingly concerned about the impacts of climate change, feeling both anxious and vulnerable in the face of ongoing environmental challenges. Despite these concerns, most participants expressed a willingness to take decisive action to mitigate the effects of climate change, signaling a proactive approach to addressing environmental sustainability.

This shift in public sentiment underscores the urgent need for policies and initiatives that not only address the immediate effects of climate change but also bolster public trust and confidence in long-term environmental strategies. As climate anxiety continues to rise, the role of informed and engaged communities becomes ever more critical in driving meaningful change.
