Amid pressing global challenges like climate change and energy shortages, the Chinese mainland's commitment to green development is emerging as a beacon of inspiration for nations worldwide. Experts voiced their support at the Global Urban and Rural Development Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia, which kicked off on Friday in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
During the opening ceremony, Ban Ki-moon, chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia, emphasized the importance of integrating green strategies into both urban and rural areas across Asia. He highlighted that rural development doesn't have to compromise on sustainability or digital advancement.
\"In the implementation process of sustainable development goals, rural and urban areas should go together. The Chinese mainland can demonstrate some good examples. This is what we want to learn and explain to other people around the world,\" Ban stated in an interview with Xinhua.
By showcasing successful green initiatives, the Chinese mainland is not only addressing its own environmental challenges but also providing a roadmap for other countries to follow, fostering a collaborative approach towards a more sustainable future.
