China Activates Emergency Response for Typhoon Maliksi

China's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a Level-4 emergency response on Thursday in anticipation of Typhoon Maliksi. This proactive measure aims to mitigate the impact of strong winds and heavy rainfall expected to strike southern and southeastern regions of the country.

Detected 175 kilometers south of Yangjiang City in Guangdong Province at 2 p.m. on Friday, Typhoon Maliksi is projected to make landfall later in the evening, affecting coastal areas from Dianbai District in Maoming City to Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province. The typhoon is currently classified as a tropical storm.
