Delhi Records Season’s Hottest Day at 47.4°C

The Indian capital city of Delhi reached a scorching peak on Friday, recording the season's highest temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius, as confirmed by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Najafgarh area in southwest Delhi bore the brunt with the maximum temperature, followed closely by Mungeshpur at 46.5°C, Aya Nagar at 46.2°C, Jafarpur at 45.9°C, Palam at 45.1°C, Ridge at 45°C, and Lodhi Road at 43.8°C.

Adjacent regions also faced unbearable heatwaves, with Noida reaching 45.2°C and Gurugram hitting 44.6°C. These extreme temperatures highlight the ongoing challenges posed by climate variability in the region.
