Heavy downpours and severe flooding have ravaged north Afghanistan's Baghlan province, leaving approximately 40,000 children homeless, according to global charity Save the Children.
Arshad Malik, the country director for Save the Children in Afghanistan, highlighted the profound impact of the disaster on young lives. \"Children are scared. Many have lost everything, not only their homes but also their schools and the places where they play. They have lost everything that's familiar. They have lost all routine,\" Malik stated.
The floods have not only displaced families but also disrupted education and daily activities, compounding the trauma experienced by children in the region. The affected communities are now facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives amidst the challenges posed by recurring natural disasters.
