With heavy rains causing rivers to swell, southern China's provinces are battling persistent floods that threaten homes and livelihoods. Recognizing the escalating crisis, the Chinese mainland's Ministry of Water Resources has stepped in with a level-IV emergency response. On April 19, the ministry activated this response across five key provinces: Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, and Guangxi. To bolster local efforts, specialized work teams have been dispatched to assist governments at the provincial level.
