China's National Meteorological Center has renewed a yellow alert for rainstorms as heavy downpours are expected to impact several regions this weekend. From Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, provinces including Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are bracing for significant rainfall.
The meteorological center forecasts maximum hourly precipitation exceeding 80 millimeters, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. These conditions could lead to severe disruptions, prompting authorities to urge local governments to prepare accordingly.
Traffic management authorities have been advised to implement appropriate traffic control measures on affected road sections during periods of heavy rainfall. Additionally, recommendations include disconnecting outdoor power supplies at risk, suspending outdoor operations in open areas, and relocating residents from vulnerable locations to safer zones.
China employs a four-tier, color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe alerts, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
