A devastating tornado struck the eastern Indian state of West Bengal on Sunday, resulting in the tragic loss of at least five lives and injuring over 100 individuals, officials reported on Monday.
The powerful tornado swept through several parts of the Jalpaiguri district, causing extensive damage to homes and uprooting numerous trees in Jalpaiguri town as well as the neighboring Mainaguri area. Rescue and relief operations are currently underway to assist those affected by the disaster.
