China Issues Yellow Alert for Heavy Fog Across Coastal Regions

The National Meteorological Center of China has renewed its yellow alert for heavy fog, impacting several coastal regions across the country. This alert covers areas including the Bohai and Yellow Seas, the East China Sea, and the coastal waters off the Liaodong and Shandong Peninsulas, as well as provinces like Zhejiang and Fujian.

Residents and maritime operators in these regions are advised to prepare for reduced visibility, with forecasts indicating that it could drop below 1 kilometer. The thick fog poses significant challenges for navigation and daily activities, emphasizing the need for caution.

For vessels engaged in sailing and operations, the authorities recommend enhancing lookout procedures, adjusting speeds, and maintaining safe distances to ensure secure navigation during these foggy conditions.

China utilizes a three-tier color-coded warning system for thick fog, where red signifies the most severe conditions, followed by orange and yellow. The current yellow alert serves as a critical reminder for communities and industries to prioritize safety and adjust their activities accordingly.
