In a creative twist to environmental activism, Hungarian artist Gabor Barath is transforming old car tires into compelling sculptures. His innovative approach aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and the detrimental effects of improper tire disposal.
\"Many car owners don't know how to get rid of their old tires,\" says Barath. \"Also, people don't realize the environmental harm caused by improper tire disposal. My sculptures serve as a visual reminder of this issue.\"
Despite Hungary recycling around 60 percent of its tires each year, the country still grapples with the problem of tire waste infiltrating forests and fields, marring the natural landscape.
\"For many years, people just discarded tires in our forests,\" explains recycling specialist Gabor File. \"They would leave the tires anywhere they could, causing a serious problem.\"
