Currently, thousands of visitors navigate busy intersections and the crowded Pont d'Iena bridge to capture the perfect shot of the tower from across the River Seine at Trocadero. The congestion not only hampers the visitor experience but also poses challenges for the movement within this historic area.
In an effort to alleviate these issues, Hidalgo has proposed the development of a continuous garden linking the Eiffel Tower to the Trocadero esplanade. This green corridor is envisioned to provide a serene and uninterrupted pathway, promoting sustainable urban living and reducing vehicular traffic in one of Paris’s most photographed zones.
The initiative is slated to commence immediately after the 2024 Summer Olympics, taking advantage of the international spotlight to kickstart the project. \"After the Olympic Games, there will no longer be cars passing in front of the Eiffel Tower,\" Hidalgo stated in an interview with the Ouest-France newspaper.
