Edith Calderon, a ticket inspector at a bus station, highlighted the effectiveness of these initiatives: \"The sunshades have played a crucial role. Health officials are urging the public to take precautions during the peak heat hours between 11:00 and 17:00. Christian Garcia, head of the epidemiology department of the Chilean Ministry of Health, emphasized the importance of staying hydrated and seeking shade: \"We call on people to avoid exposure to high temperatures by staying in cool places and seeking shade during the hottest hours. It is crucial to stay well hydrated as it helps prevent dehydration.\"
