Inside Guangzhou Baiyun’s 3-Terminal, 5-Runway T3 Hub

This December, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport unveiled Terminal 3 (T3) and its fifth runway, marking the Chinese mainland’s first aviation hub with three terminals and five runways. This expansion pushes the airport’s annual passenger capacity to 120 million, cementing its status as a global gateway.

T3 alone is designed to handle 30 million travelers each year. Its striking "Floral Crown" roof, inspired by Guangzhou’s flowers and natural landscape, has quickly become a city landmark. Petal-shaped skylights flood the terminal with daylight, while spacious lounges, dining spots, and retail areas showcase Guangdong’s vibrant culture.

The fifth runway enhances connectivity for key markets across Asia, Europe, and beyond, underlining the hub’s role in driving economic growth and facilitating global travel.

As part of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area strategy, Guangzhou Baiyun sits at the heart of a world-class airport cluster, supporting seamless connections for passengers and goods.

Sports and entertainment fans benefit too: faster links to regional tournaments and cultural events, from music showcases to international film festivals, bring pop culture experiences within reach.

On the ground, a high-speed metro links the airport to downtown Guangzhou in under 30 minutes, offering travelers easy access to local markets, art districts, and green spaces. The terminal itself becomes the first step in an immersive journey through the region’s heritage and innovation.

Looking ahead to 2026, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is set to redefine the travel experience, inviting young global citizens to discover a design-driven hub that bridges cultures and powers new adventures.
