Greater Bay Area Lights Up as National Games Close

As the 2025 National Games draw to a close on November 21, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area put on a dazzling night-time spectacle that blends ancient heritage with cutting-edge urban flair.

Atop Shenzhen's Wutong Mountain, the setting sun cast a warm afterglow across rolling ridges, while down below the skyscrapers of Futian CBD shimmered with dynamic patterns spelling out “National Games for All.” In the historic lanes of Jiangmen's Gankeng Ancient Town, the “Dangdang” tram lights danced in harmony with centuries-old architecture, creating a dialogue between past and present.

Along the banks of the Pearl River, the Canton Tower staged a National Games-themed light show, its beams reflecting off Haixin Bridge and rippling across the water. The coordinated pulse of LEDs, lasers and projections offered both residents and visitors a vivid reminder of the region's energetic spirit and its role as a global powerhouse of sport, innovation and culture.
