Financial Hubs Unite for Innovation and Green Finance

On the sidelines of the 2025 Financial Street Forum in the heart of Beijing's financial street – a key hub for the Chinese mainland's financial industry – a live roundtable convened leading voices from global financial centers to pursue sustainability and shared prosperity.

Moderated by CGTN anchor Zhu Zhu, the discussion brought together representatives from Frankfurt Main Finance and Casablanca Finance City Authority. Their goal: explore how financial centers can collaborate to spark innovation, advance green finance and strengthen connectivity across Europe, Africa and Asia.

Panelists outlined three strategic priorities:

  • Digital Innovation: Leveraging fintech solutions and data analytics to streamline cross-border transactions and broaden market access.
  • Green Finance: Developing standardized green bond frameworks and sustainable investment platforms to accelerate environmental goals.
  • Connectivity: Building regulatory bridges and knowledge-sharing networks that connect diverse markets and attract new capital.

The Frankfurt delegate noted that Europe’s mature fintech ecosystem offers valuable lessons in risk management and digital asset integration. Meanwhile, the Casablanca representative highlighted Morocco’s growing role as a gateway to African markets and its emerging green finance initiatives.

Speakers agreed that open dialogue, supported by data-driven insights and aligned governance, will be crucial to transforming the global financial landscape. Looking ahead, they called for deeper partnerships, joint pilot projects and regular exchange forums to turn shared vision into real-world impact.

Zhu Zhu wrapped up the discussion by noting that when financial centers unite around common goals, they unlock the innovation and resources needed for sustainable growth across continents.
