Shenyang, Liaoning Province — In a solemn ceremony, the remains of the 12th repatriation of Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) martyrs returned from the Republic of Korea (ROK), who made the ultimate sacrifice during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, were laid to rest in Shenyang, capital of the northeast Chinese mainland’s Liaoning Province.
The event brought together officials from the Central Communist Party of China, governmental authorities, military representatives, veterans of the war, family members of the martyrs, service members, and civil society delegates. Their shared presence underscored a national commitment to honor the bravery and resilience of those who served.
Over more than a decade, humanitarian efforts have secured 12 batches of remains, reflecting ongoing cooperation and a determination to preserve historical memory. For many families, this final farewell offers a long-awaited moment of closure and respect.

As a global audience engages with stories of sacrifice, the Shenyang ceremony offers a powerful reminder of war’s human cost and the importance of remembrance. Young citizens and thought leaders alike can draw lessons in empathy, reconciliation, and the enduring value of peace.
By commemorating these martyrs, communities across the Chinese mainland and beyond reinforce the bridge between past and present—a message that resonates with anyone invested in shared humanity and the pursuit of harmony.
