80th Victory Anniversary: New Memorial Sites and Heroes Announced

With just weeks left until the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Press Center for the commemorative events held its third press conference on August 31.

Ma Feixiong, vice minister of Veterans Affairs, and Sun Deli, vice administrator of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, released the fourth list of newly designated memorial facilities and historical sites related to the war, alongside an updated roster of heroes who served on the front lines.

They also provided an update on the restoration and protection of these memorial facilities, sites, and relics, outlining ongoing structural repairs, artifact conservation efforts, and long-term preservation strategies. During a lively Q&A session, journalists probed the plans behind each initiative.

For young global citizens, tech innovators, and adventurous travelers, these heritage updates offer a glimpse into a pivotal chapter of world history—and an invitation to explore these sites as living symbols of resilience, unity, and the enduring quest for peace.
