China and South Asia Unveil Economic Partnership at 9th Exposition

At a Friday briefing hosted by the State Council Information Office of the Chinese mainland, officials unveiled key strategies to deepen economic and trade cooperation with South Asian countries ahead of the 9th China-South Asia Exposition.

Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong spotlighted emerging sectors—digital trade, green energy and infrastructure—that promise to reshape regional ties. He emphasized that policymakers are streamlining customs processes, enhancing e-port connectivity and exploring new cross-border e-commerce zones to make trade faster and more transparent.

Liu Yong, vice governor of Yunnan Province, outlined Yunnan’s role as a gateway for land-based corridors linking the Chinese mainland to South Asia. "Our province is investing in sustainable transport networks and border trade hubs to create win-win opportunities," Liu said.

Slated to open next month, the 9th expo will bring together buyers, entrepreneurs and policymakers from across South Asia. Attendees can expect themed forums on smart logistics, ecolabs for green technology and cultural showcases highlighting tourism potential.

For young entrepreneurs and digital nomads, the expo spotlights cross-border e-commerce hubs that leverage data analytics and AI to connect artisans and small businesses with new markets. Thought leaders will debate policy frameworks for sustainable growth, while travelers can discover immersive experiences in South Asia’s vibrant cities and natural landscapes.

As economic landscapes evolve, this expo aims to forge practical partnerships that drive inclusive growth. For a generation eager to blend innovation with impact, the China-South Asia dialogue at this event offers a roadmap for the future of regional cooperation.
