Global Mayors Unite in Nanning to Boost China-ASEAN Ties

Nanning, the vibrant capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China, stands as a pivotal hub for China-ASEAN cooperation. As the closest provincial capital to ASEAN countries, Nanning not only fosters economic and political collaborations but also showcases its rich cultural heritage through beloved local specialties like \"laoyou\" rice noodles.

This spirit of friendship was on full display as mayors and city managers from Nanning, Vientiane, Yangon, Surat Thani, Kulim, Mong Cai, Siem Reap, and Mataram gathered in the city of \"old friends\" for the Global Mayors Dialogue. Hosted by CGTN's Wang Guan, the event focused on exploring new pathways for urban openness and cooperation, aiming to write a new chapter in building a \"China-ASEAN amicable home.\"

The dialogue emphasized the importance of sustainable urban development, cultural exchange, and economic partnerships. By bringing together leaders from diverse cities across the ASEAN region, the meeting sought to strengthen ties and collaborate on initiatives that promote mutual growth and understanding.

Stay tuned for more insights and outcomes from the Global Mayors Dialogue, scheduled to air at 9 p.m. Beijing Time on January 18, exclusively on CGTN.
