Historic Moment: South Korea’s Impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol Faces Arrest Warrant

South Korea is witnessing a significant political upheaval as investigators from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) vacated the presidential residence without apprehending the impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol. The failed attempt to execute the arrest warrant, issued by a Seoul court on Tuesday, marks the first such instance in the nation's modern history targeting a sitting president.

According to the CIO, the persistent confrontation made it virtually impossible to carry out the arrest. As the nation grapples with these developments, the constitutional court has scheduled hearings for Yoon's impeachment trial on January 14 and January 16, setting the stage for a critical juncture in South Korea's political landscape.
