The Forum on China and Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is set to take place in Beijing from September 4 to 6, marking its second gathering since 2018. This year's forum, themed "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future," will feature a series of activities including the opening ceremony, a welcome banquet, gala performances, high-level meetings, and the Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs. Bilateral meetings are also scheduled on the sidelines.
In anticipation of the event, CGTN is conducting a series of roundtable discussions with African officials and business leaders who have witnessed the growing friendship between China and Africa. The second session focuses on Kenya, featuring Kenyan Ambassador to China Willy Bett, Executive Chairman of Alliance of Chinese Business in Africa for Social Responsibilities Diao Chunhe, and Beijing Jiaotong University postgraduate student Jamlick Mwangi Kariuki. Their discussion centers on business cooperation in infrastructure, the enduring friendship between China and Africa, and future opportunities.
