Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Opens: Revolutionizing South China’s Connectivity

China's infrastructure prowess is on display yet again with the completion of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link. After seven years of navigating both land and sea, this major construction project is set to open to the public on June 30.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is hailed as a massive step forward in connecting not only the Greater Bay Area but the entirety of south China, including the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao. The project integrates underground tunnels beneath the Pearl River, an extended bridge above water, and man-made islands, making it one of the most advanced cross-sea projects worldwide.

What was once a two-hour drive from Zhongshan to Shenzhen has now been reduced to just 30 minutes, significantly improving accessibility, convenience, and speed for both travelers and businesses. This enhanced connectivity is expected to boost economic activities and foster greater integration within the region.

To experience this monumental achievement firsthand, join CGTN's Omar Khan and Baoan Media Convergence Center anchor Luo Kang as they journey across the Pearl River.
