A pair of black-necked crane couples are successfully breeding in the wetlands at an altitude of approximately 4,700 meters in Xainza County, Nagqu City, within the southwest region of Xizang Autonomous Region. These magnificent birds inhabit meadows, wetlands, and lakes ranging from 2,500 to 5,000 meters above sea level. The black-necked cranes primarily reside in the highlands of China, India, Bhutan, and Nepal. In China, the species is under first-class state protection, ensuring their preservation and thriving populations in these vital ecosystems.
