A powerful magnitude-7.3 earthquake struck the waters off Hualien County in China's Taiwan region at 7:58 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). Shortly after, a magnitude-6.0 aftershock was recorded at 8:11 a.m., deepening concerns about seismic activity in the area.
