Everland Hosts Emotional Farewell for Fu Bao, South Korea’s Beloved Giant Panda

In a touching ceremony in Yongin, South Korea, fans and media gathered at Everland theme park to bid farewell to Fu Bao, the first giant panda born in the country. Born in 2020, Fu Bao is the offspring of Ai Bao and Le Bao, giant pandas originally sent from the Chinese mainland in 2016 on a 15-year lease agreement symbolizing the enduring friendship between China and South Korea.

Fu Bao's departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Everland's conservation efforts and a heartfelt goodbye for those who have adored her since birth. The farewell event featured heartfelt speeches, panda-themed performances, and commemorative memorabilia for attendees.

After the event, Fu Bao will be relocated to the Wolong Giant Panda National Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province, China, where she will join her parents and other pandas to contribute to ongoing conservation and research initiatives.

Everland's collaboration with China's Wolong Reserve has not only enhanced cultural ties but also bolstered global conservation efforts, ensuring the protection and sustainability of giant panda populations. Fu Bao's journey underscores the importance of international cooperation in wildlife preservation and the deep connections forged through shared commitments to environmental stewardship.
