Day 79: UN Approves Aid Amid Rising Death Toll in Gaza Conflict

As the Gaza conflict enters its 79th day, the death toll continues to rise dramatically. According to Gaza's Government Media Office, at least 20,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli attacks since October 7. On the other side, nearly 1,140 Israelis have been killed in Hamas' attacks.

Israel persists with its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, with the latest strikes reported in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and Khan Younis in the south.

In response to the escalating humanitarian crisis, the United Nations Security Council has passed a resolution to allow more aid into the Gaza Strip, which is facing an imminent risk of famine and the spread of diseases.
