Day 70 of Palestine-Israel Conflict: Gaza Faces Intensified Strikes and Humanitarian Crisis

As the Palestine-Israel conflict marks its 70th day, the Gaza Strip remains under relentless Israeli assaults, leaving a devastating toll on the civilian population. According to the Gaza-based Health Ministry, over 18,600 Palestinians have lost their lives since the onset of attacks on October 7, with more than 50,500 others wounded.

In recent developments, Israeli forces intensified their operations in Rafah, targeting residential areas. On Thursday alone, two houses were bombarded, resulting in the tragic deaths of 27 civilians, as reported by Palestinian media.

The Israeli army has been swift in its campaign, stating that over 250 locations in Gaza were targeted in the past 24 hours. The ground battles that commenced on October 27 have also claimed lives on the Israeli side, with a total of 115 soldiers killed so far.

Amid the escalating violence, a top United Nations official addressed the 2023 Global Refugee Forum in Geneva, describing Gaza as \"a living hell.\" The official called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, emphasizing the urgent need to alleviate the suffering of civilians caught in the crossfire.

The international community watches closely as the situation in Gaza deteriorates, raising concerns over the long-term implications for regional stability and humanitarian conditions.
