Truce Enters Day 3: Hostage Swaps Mark Ceasefire Progress in Israel-Hamas Conflict

The Israel-Hamas conflict, now in its 51st day, enters a critical phase as the four-day truce reaches its third day. This ceasefire marks a significant step towards de-escalation, with hostages being swapped between the two sides.

In the initial phase of the agreement, thirteen Israeli captives—including ten Thai citizens and one Filipino—were released from Gaza. Concurrently, 39 Palestinian women and child prisoners were freed from Israeli jails. Hamas is expected to release an additional 50 Israeli captives over the next four days, while Israel has pledged to release 150 Palestinian detainees.

The ceasefire could potentially be extended beyond the initial four days if both parties adhere to the terms. Additionally, humanitarian aid has already begun entering the Gaza Strip, with further progress anticipated as the truce holds. The international community watches closely, hopeful for a lasting resolution to the long-standing conflict.
