The Israel-Palestine conflict has now entered its 38th day, with the toll on Gaza's population continuing to climb. According to the Hamas-run Gaza health authorities, casualties in the Gaza Strip have exceeded 11,000, including 4,000 children. In response to the ongoing violence, Israel has adjusted the death toll from the October 7 Hamas attack, reducing the number of fatalities from 1,400 to 1,200. While this revision reflects a slightly lower number, the situation remains dire for both sides.
Compounding the crisis, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported that 21 out of 35 hospitals in Gaza have ceased operations due to critical shortages of fuel and essential supplies. Authorities at Al-Shifa have raised alarms over the dire conditions, with 39 babies at risk of dying because of electricity cutoffs and interruptions in oxygen supplies.
